The Master of Science Mechatronics course imparts the scientific skills needed to develop mechatronic functions in vehicle construction, aircraft construction and automation. Theoretical content for modeling mechatronic systems, their optimal control and regulation and their implementation are conveyed and deepened with practical examples
The first semester is used to impart mathematical and mechatronic methods and to harmonize the knowledge and skills of the students in the subject areas relevant to mechatronics. The modules are put together according to the previous knowledge of the students.
In the second semester, engineering methods in the field of modeling are taught and further modules from the field of mechatronics methods are taught.
The acquired knowledge and skills are individually supplemented by three elective modules and applied and deepened in a mechatronic research project. Interdisciplinary course content enables graduates to work competently and goal-oriented in interdisciplinary teams on challenging research and development tasks and to present the results.
This applies to a large number of industries, from the automotive industry and its suppliers to the aerospace industry, machine tool construction, robotics and medical technology.
The research orientation of the degree program prepares graduates for the processing of demanding mechatronic tasks in industry and science.
