The course is designed for a standard study period of seven semesters. It is a computer science course, so it deals primarily with techniques and models for processing information and especially with the software and hardware of computers. It also provides the necessary basic knowledge from electrical engineering and communications engineering to embed information technology hardware and software in devices, machines and communication systems.

We offer our students five major fields of study so that they can set technical accents during their studies depending on their personal interests:

The course not only places value on specialist knowledge, but also on training in soft skills, which include teamwork, presentation techniques and foreign languages. This course is particularly suitable for students who are interested in the development of software systems as well as their technical aspects (e.g. architecture, distribution, embedding, communication).


In the first semesters, we impart to our students basic knowledge in the areas of practical computer science, technical computer science, mathematics and communications engineering . Intensive accompaniment of the subjects through practical experiments is typical of the course.

In the following semesters, the students can determine the subject-specific orientation of their studies to a large extent themselves: They can choose profile-specific subjects and thus set their study focus based on the study profiles offered. In addition, there are further elective modules from the
fields of computer science and communications technology, which can be put together according to your own ideas. In two differently designed software projects, the students independently apply the software concepts they have learned in practical tasks.

In addition, management techniques and so-called soft skills are first taught in special events and actively applied during the implementation of the software projects. The students get an insight into their future professional activity through an integrated practical phase .

The completion of the course is the preparation of the bachelor thesis: A task is processed independently according to technical and scientific methods.
