The course combines the fields of journalistic craft, multimedia production, content marketing and social media, web design and web technologies as well as media law and media ethics framework. The work of the online editor is more determined by technical requirements and creative tasks than with editors in the classic media. The online editors also acquire specific methodological competence in the areas of usability and online research.

Develop interdisciplinary skills in projects
Project-based work is characteristic of the online editing course. In exercises, laboratory internships and projects, the students acquire and deepen the ability to work in a team, take on leadership roles and optimize their time management. You will learn the target group-specific planning, conception, organization, implementation and evaluation of web projects. They regularly use the special working techniques of online editors in practice.
Use scientific foundation
The course enables students to work scientifically as well as to use methods of communication, media and web science and thus prepare students for a further master’s degree and, if necessary, for a doctorate. In addition, dealing with subject-specific theories should enable a critical assessment of one's own role in later professional life.

In the 5th semester there is the opportunity to do an editorial internship abroad. In addition, the 4th and 6th semesters are ideal for a stay at a foreign university.
Graduates of our degree program work in the online editorial offices of media companies and publishers, companies from all sectors, authorities and non-governmental organizations. They are also active in agencies as social media experts, content producers, user experience designers or concept developers. There are also some examples of successful company start-ups or self-employed activities among our graduates.
