The Bachelor’s degree in Design has four independent fields of study: Digital media and experiment, photography and visual media, communication design, fashion.
The course can be completed in one field of study or can be made broader and more interdisciplinary by assigning subjects in the other fields of study. In doing so, sensual phenomena from society, art and culture are reflected and incorporated into the creative work: imaginative concepts with contemporary issues, artistic and applied design with an independent approach and implementation with profound knowledge of the material and technology are created. The course is rounded off by theoretical reflection and academic writing on design topics.
Through cooperation with cultural and economic institutions and through public events such as lectures, exhibitions, symposia, fashion shows and the factory show, the department opens up to the outside world and becomes a lively arena for a varied study life.
Through studying abroad or internship, through excursions and international events, the students come into contact with other universities, agencies, studios and companies from Germany and abroad. In this way, they can gather a wealth of knowledge in order to be well equipped to start a diverse professional field
