Overview

The consecutive master’s degree in architecture is application-oriented and offers the following focuses:

  • Building in existing structures - building preservation and monument preservation
  • Energy efficient and sustainable building
  • Architecture and construction - design and urban development

For the creation of an individual profile, elective modules can be completed from the following areas of competence:

  • Planning and design
  • Design and construction
  • Construction and technology
  • Building history and preservation
  • Management and Controlling
  • Design and presentation

With these focal areas, the Architecture course at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin is responding to the new demands placed on architects' job descriptions. These focal points are accompanied by the mediation of media presentation techniques and computer-aided design methods.

CAREER PROSPECTS

The professional field of architects has changed and expanded significantly in recent years. In addition to the classic fields of activity, such as design and construction, a number of other areas of activity have developed since the end of the 20th century that determine the field of work today:

  • Build in stock
  • Energy efficient and sustainable building
  • Urban redevelopment
  • Redevelopment
  • Monument preservation
  • Conversion
  • Project management
  • Controlling

The architect with a Master of Science degree (in Architecture) can actively intervene in the structural and spatial environment, design the living space and implement his drafts, concepts and studies.

As a designer, constructor and coordinator, he / she represents the interface between the planning and executing authorities and the client.
