cessed? How can one think and implement the future and fictions? Or create media events yourself that others discuss? Or develop new publics, communicative spaces, design interfaces for interpersonal relationships? They should also help design the objects of the future. You are also welcome to revolutionize media art. And, by the way: TV and radio too. Science, technology and art are not mutually exclusive. They absolutely belong together. That is a tradition in Weimar.

Concrete:In the bachelor's degree in Media Art / Media Design, you can expect small groups and individual projects, practical exercises and unusual ways of working - artistically, technically and organizationally. Close to everyday media life.

The auditory and the visual, the eventful, the conceptual, the interactive: the areas interlock, the possible combinations are diverse. That is the unique profile. That is the media art / media design of the Bauhaus University Weimar.

First of all, the two-semester basic course focuses on technical and practical basic teaching. How do I operate a camera? What actually is a radio play? What is collected in my sample case? What should the cell phone of the future be able to do? Should it have more functions? Should it even smell good? Ask questions. Try it out. Spin around.
This is followed by a four-semester specialist course with a stronger thematic focus. You will be able to concentrate on an artistic area, deepening content and getting to know experimental forms of expression. You will question and transform scientific knowledge through your art. Freely selectable events from the fields of media studies and media informatics as well as the scientific teaching areas of the Faculty of Art and Design provide a view of the bigger picture. Likewise, of course, external internships and stays at international universities, which are supported and recognized.

The standard period of study for the Bachelor's degree in Media Art / Media Design is eight semesters. After completing and defending the bachelor thesis, the Faculty of Art and Design awards the academic degree "Bachelor of Fine Arts".
