1st and 2nd semester
The German students complete the first year of study in Weimar and the French students in Lyon, where they take introductory modules and acquire basic knowledge of the respective subject. Just like their local fellow students, participants in the EMK study program take part in the examinations accompanying their studies.

3rd and 4th semester
In the second year, the students switch to the partner university: the Germans go to Lyon and the French to Weimar. There, too, students write the same exams and papers as their domestic fellow students.

5th semester
In the fifth semester, the German students stay in Lyon and the French students return there so that everyone can study together.

6th semester
The sixth semester is spent together in Weimar. In addition to a final study module, the students write their Bachelor thesis under the supervision of a French professor and a German professor. The students write the thesis in one of the two languages ??(approx. 40 pages) and deliver a summary in the other language (approx. 4-8 pages). The defense of the thesis will be held in both languages ??in the presence of the German and French professors.
